Is Samsung working on an Android 5.1 Update for Galaxy Devices?
At a time when every phone maker is rolling out an Android Lollipop update, things can’t get bigger in the Android domain if the updates are going on the air for a Samsung Galaxy. Samsung is already busy rolling out Android 5.0 L to its devices, but there are reports that many devices in the Galaxy series could also be getting an Android 5.1 update in the near future.
Android 5.0 L updates started since December 2014 and still many of the Galaxy devices are receiving their update for Android 5.0.1 or 5.0.2. The leading phones and phablets in the series include Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Tab S and Galaxy S4.
Samsung seems to be on a roll and it could go on with the Android Lollipop update throughout the year. This could also mean that many Samsung Galaxy phones and tabs will also be relieving 5.1 L updates.
At a time when many phone makers may just be rolling out Android 5.0 updates, some devices such as a few phones in the Nexus series are already beginning to receive a better Android 5.1 upgrade. Android v5.0 has been marred by several bugs and issues, which were tweaked in v5.1. This is one of the main reasons why so many Galaxy users (even other Android users) are looking forward to any news about an Android 5.1 release.
There have been a few recent insider leaks that hint that some of the groundbreaking features seen in the new Galaxy S6coudl be making their way to other Galaxy devices through an Android 5.1 L update. There is no certainty about this indication, but at the rate Samsung is busy updating its Galaxy series, firstly Android 5.0 and then with Android 5.0.1 and 5.02, it is relatively easy to see where this is going.
