Even when the bigger brands continue churning out more sales, LG seems to be advancing with better technological innovations. There are rumours that LG may be ready to release its top-end smartphone, LG G4.
All kinds of stories are being reported about the successor to the LG G3. It is said to have square or rectangular shapes, especially in the case of the power button and the camera sensor. It can have a 16-megapixel primary camera, compared to the G3’s 13-megapixel lens.
The new LG phone is likely to come loaded with Android Lollipop. It may have a 5-inch curved True HD-IPS + LCD displays with pixel density that may be at par with that of the Galaxy S6.
There are speculations that the G4 may have a stylus. But it could also be the TV antenna, which is found in the case of the G3s designed for the Korean market.
Other rumours claim that the LG G4 may have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip with a Cortex A53 or A57 CPU. LG may have dumped the 16GB version and launched a new 64GB version with 128GB storage expansion slot.
Besides the 16MP primary camera, the G4 could have a 5MP secondary camera. There is no information about the battery. The LG G3 has a 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery that offers up to 21 hours of talktime. The G3 has a 5.5-inch display. It is expected that the new phone, thanks to its smaller display, could have even better battery life.
There is no information about the dimensions of the new LG G4. But given that it will have a smaller display it is probable that it will be lighter.
The latest phone is expected to further help boost the company’s market share, especially in North America. In November 2014, the company recorded it’s highest-ever market share in North America. It is rumoured that the LG G4 will be hitting the markets within a few weeks.
